Tower Hill | Ranny Macdonald

£1,100.00

Coloured pencil on primed paper, 20 × 30 cm, Sold framed

Ranny Macdonald graduated from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2020. He makes dramatised, dreamlike images of everyday moments, where domesticated dogs and cats are the protagonists. Studies drawn outside, or from carefully lit, hand-made models in his studio, are combined with a range of visual references, from Rembrandt to Looney Tunes, to form a world that sits between existing visual media and the real. He uses this space as a way of thinking about humanity’s relationship with the non-human, and the link between visual media and our experience of reality.
