The Roof, The Roof, The Roof is on Fire | Samuel Donagh
Graphite on paper, 122 × 163 cm, Sold framed
Samuel Donagh (b. 1995, Bridgend) Graduated from London Collage of Communication (UAL) with a degree in Illustration and Visual Media. Drawing and painting act as an autobiographical tool in which he attempts to unravel his entangled roots. Exploring the relationships of cultural identity, masculinity and mental health he uses observation and memory to navigate these themes. Through the mystic pagan stories of Wales to the gladiatorial elements of contemporary sport these subjects provide visceral representations for his deeper exploration.
