Rowley Haynes graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in Printing and Painting. His friends and family are the impetus of his work, drawing them from both life and photographs. He often directs his muses into particular poses and constructs scenes based on memories. He uses his familiarity with his sitters to explore his relationships with them, whilst also attempting to investigate more archetypical ideas about relationships, such as intimacy and loneliness.
